Indulge in the timeless charm of Kyoto's craftsmanship, artistry, and culinary delights this summer at the exclusive Crypto Crafts Marché. In this short 3-day event, the Marché showcases both establishments hundreds of years old and relatively new entrants, each preserving the legacy of their craft with an appreciation for new technologies and collaborations.

What sets this fair apart? We're embracing the future by accepting payments in cryptocurrency. In a world where cryptocurrency payments in Japan are still often limited to digital goods, the Marché offers a chance to purchase the new wave of Kyoto tradition through cryptocurrency.

The Marché curates a selection of artisans who experiment with new techniques or mediums. From ceramicist Yuko Hayashi who employs confectionary methods to create delicate feathery shapes with her clay, to collective Someyafive who apply traditional kimono dyeing methods to T-shirts to create everyday wear, the Marché offers a rare glimpse into the side of Kyoto exploring and testing the boundaries of tradition.

A curation of original works made by highly acclaimed artists in Kyoto, Japan presented by KARAFUNEYA. Artworks available on the Kogei Art online store also comes with an IC-tagged NFT blockchain certificate called a Startrail Registry Record (SRR). KARAFUNEYA, a printing company in Kyoto founded in 1921, has worked closely with literati and artists for over a 100 years. We felt it was our mission to spread information on the world of Kogei as art to create a market for this work and to pass on the traditional world of Kyoto Kogei art to the next generation.
